The Must-Have Accessory

Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. – Ephesians 6:11
“I don’t have anything to wear.” How many times have we uttered than in frustration as we rifle through our over-stuffed closets? A quick call from an encouraging sister with style and we suddenly realize that we can accessorize our attire and transform ourselves from drab to fab. A bold scarf, a delicate strand of pearls, or a belt to cinch our waists suddenly saves the night! We step out in our favorite pair of shoes, lift our heads and lengthen our strides.
However even the most expensive diamonds and magazine-worthy high heels can’t replace the accessory that Paul advises us to wear, and it’s the in the form of the full armor of God. It equips us for battle, covers all of our flaws, lifts us up in the places where we need it, and even makes our feet stylish with the gospel of peace. The full armor of God is the must-have accessory for every Christian woman no matter the season.
Practical Application: The enemy pulls every trick to attack us with his weapons. That’s why we have to be fully equipped to stand against him. During the time when Paul is imprisoned in Rome, he instructs us to be suited with the full armor of God when we stand on the frontlines for the cause of Christ.
Prayer: Lord, I’m committed to standing on the frontlines for the cause of Christ. Thank You for equipping me to thwart the works of the enemy. I believe Your word that no weapon formed against me will prosper. Amen.
