When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went unto Him and besought Him that He would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

Jesus put him off: “Unless you people are dazzled by a miracle, you refuse to believe.”

He was fearful that unless Jesus would go with him to Capernaum, his son would have no hope.
