²⁰ He feeds on^[a] ashes.
His deceived mind has led him astray,
and he cannot rescue himself,
or say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?” ^(A)

²⁵ This is your lot,
what I have decreed for you—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
because you have forgotten me^(A)
and trusted in lies.^(B)

¹⁹ Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
my refuge in a time of distress,^(A)
the nations will come to you
from the ends of the earth, and they will say,
“Our ancestors inherited only lies,
worthless idols^(B) of no benefit at all.”
