²⁴ About three months later Judah was told, “Your daughter-in-law, Tamar, has been acting like a prostitute, and now she is pregnant.”

“Bring her out,” Judah said, “and let her be burned to death!” ^(A)

¹⁴ If a man marries^[a] a woman and her mother,^(A) it is depraved. Both he and they must be burned,^(B) so that there will be no depravity among you.

⁶ Then the Philistines asked, “Who did this?”

They were told, “It was Samson, the Timnite’s son-in-law, because he took Samson’s wife and gave her to his companion.” So the Philistines went to her and her father and burned them to death.

¹⁶ The ten horns you saw, and the beast, will hate the prostitute.^(A) They will make her desolate and naked, devour her flesh, and burn her up with fire.^(B)
