³³ Then he ^[a]examined it and said, “It is my son’s tunic. ^(A)A vicious animal has devoured him; ^(B)Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!”

³⁴ So Jacob ^(A)tore his clothes, and put on a sackcloth undergarment over his waist, and mourned for his son many days.

¹³ But they said, “Your servants are twelve brothers in all, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and behold, the youngest is with ^(A)our father today, and ^(B)one is no longer alive.”

²⁷ Then your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that ^(A)my wife bore me two sons;

²⁸ and the one left me, and ^(A)I said, “Surely he is torn to pieces,” and I have not seen him since.
