⁵ “This is what the Lord ^[a]God says: ‘A ^(A)disaster, a unique disaster, behold, it is coming! ⁶ An end ^[b]is coming; the end has come! It has ^(B)awakened against you; behold, it has come! ⁷ Your ^[c]doom has come to you, you inhabitant of the land. The ^(C)time has come, the ^(D)day is near—panic rather than joyful shouting on the mountains.

¹⁰ ‘Behold, the day! Behold, it is coming! Your ^[a]doom has gone forth; the ^(A)rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed.

²⁹ But this I say, brothers, ^(A)the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none; ³⁰ and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess; ³¹ and those who use the world, as though they did not ^(B)make full use of it; for ^(C)the present form of this world is passing away.

^8 (A)You too be patient; ^(B)strengthen your hearts, for ^(C)the coming of the Lord is ^(D)near.

^9 (A)Do not ^[a]complain, ^(B)brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, ^(C)the Judge is standing ^[b](D)right at the ^[c]door.
