⁹ The Lord also said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked^(A) people.

⁶ Understand that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land^(A) to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.^(B)

¹³ The Lord also said to me, ‘I have seen this people, and indeed, they are a stiff-necked people.

¹⁴ But they would not listen. Instead they became obstinate like^[a] their ancestors who did not believe the Lord their God.^(A)

²³ They wouldn’t listen or pay attention but became obstinate,^(A) not listening or accepting discipline.

¹⁵ “This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to bring on this city—and on all its cities—every disaster that I spoke against it, for they have become obstinate, not obeying my words.’”^(A)
