22 ^[a]“When a man steals an ox or a sheep and butchers it or sells it, he must repay^(A) five cattle for the ox or four sheep for the sheep.

and whatever other commandment—all are summed up by this: Love your neighbor as yourself.^(B)[c]

²⁸ The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share^(A) with anyone in need.
