³⁹ For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off,^[a](A) as many as the Lord our God will call.”

³² And we ourselves proclaim to you the good news of the promise that was made to our ancestors.^(A)

¹² At that time you were without the Messiah, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise,^(A) without hope^(B) and without God in the world.
