Mom's Devotional Bible
Daughters of the King
Additional Scripture Readings: Zechariah 9:9; Revelation 17:14
Did you know that you’re a princess? If you know Jesus as your Savior, that’s exactly what you are!
In 1 Peter 2:9 we read, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.” You are royalty! Some commentators say that Peter is describing the Christian community as a king’s house, palace or royal residence, as a place where the King resides.
As you look across your kitchen table over the messy remnants of today’s lunch, this is quite a truth to swallow. From your perch in the driver’s seat fighting to maintain control over toddlers crawling out of their car seats, it’s an astonishing reality to imagine. While you’re folding the hundredth load of clothes in a week, you may not experience much of what you’d call a royal life.
But it’s true. You are a child of the King himself, through Jesus. You are royal. You’re a daughter of the King!
